Stress and Fatigue

Both are symptoms that affect most people at some point in their lives. However, long term stress raises cortisol which is a fat storing hormone. It becomes impossible to lose weight, causes other hormonal imbalances such as loss of libido and menstrual problems, and can lead to mental or physical fatigue.

Prolonged stress can also have a large impact on your digestive system, slowing down or stopping digestive processes by redirecting blood flow to the muscles in your arms and legs. Over time this can impact your digestive health and worsen digestive issues.

Your nutrition plays a large part in managing the symptoms of stress. It’s all too easy to make poor eating decisions when you’re busy, tired and overwhelmed. I understand this and aim to make it as simple as possible to make small positive changes.
